Filling our piggy banks with different combinations of coins that equal the same amount.
Welcome to year 2’s fraction museum!
We showed off everything we had learnt about fractions by representing them using all our maths resources. Our friends then came to visit our museums and we were tour guides, explaining what we had created. There was even a mystery fraction that our visitors had to work out for themselves!
We’ve been choosing and using appropriate units of measure. We loved estimating the mass of different objects around our classroom and then using scales to find out how close we were.
We made potions to help us understand capacity. We were challenged to use 1/2 and 1/4 litre measurements in our recipes. Our total potion couldn’t measure over 1000ml.
